Glenn Danas Named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s Thriving in Their 40s List
December 10, 2021
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that the Los Angeles Business Journal has named Glenn Danas to its “2021 Leaders of Influence: Thriving in Their 40s” list. The list honors 95 Los Angeles professionals from various industries who have achieved outstanding professional successes and made significant contributions to the community.
Danas, a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office, focuses on appeals, major motions and strategy, primarily in class and representative actions. In recent years, Danas has notched multiple significant wins before the California Supreme Court, including the consumer protection matter McGill v. Citibank and in employment cases Williams v. Marshalls and Iskanian v. CLS Transportation Los Angeles. Danas has argued over 40 appeals and briefed dozens more at this still relatively early point in his career.
Danas’s practice has covered a broad range of appellate matters in recent years, including representing several California municipalities against various opioid manufacturers before the California Supreme Court and Court of Appeal; the leading manufacturer of cardiovascular medical devices in a pair of federal appeals involving theft of intellectual property; and defending an Indian tribe’s $16M arbitration award in the California Court of Appeal. Danas also frequently consults with clients before appeals even begin, on matters like issue preservation and how to frame legal issues most advantageously.
Danas has been recognized for his achievements by numerous organizations, including having been named one of the “Top 100 Attorneys in California” in 2017 by the Daily Journal, and having received California Lawyer Magazine’s coveted “California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY) Award” in 2015. Danas currently serves on the State Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee (SAJEC), helping to advise the governor regarding new appellate judge appointments, on the California Lawyers Association (CLA) Committee on Appellate Courts, and on the CLA Labor and Employment Section’s Executive Committee.
